Ridgeline’s Battle of the Books 2017-18
OUR 7TH YEAR OF AN AMAZING & FUN READING PROGRAM
Ridgeline Elementary will be participating in Battle of the Books again this year. America’s Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading incentive program for students in grades 3-6. The purpose is simply to encourage students to read good books and have fun while competing with peers.
The teams for this program will be selected from each grade level and will consist of 5 or 6 students on the 3rd & 4th grade teams, and 4 or 5 students on the 5th & 6th grade teams. Teams will be organized, with help from Mrs. McKinzie (our amazing librarian) and the classroom teachers for the lower grades, and upper grades will be able to make their own teams, if desired.
Team competitions will begin March 12th– 16th during school hours.
The winning team from the 5th-6th will go on to represent our school at a district-wide competition on Sat, March 24th.
This program is available to all students, however, we will need many volunteers to help run our school’s battles in March.
To join the Battle of the Books each student must: *PLEASE NOTE: This is CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS*
- Read at least 3 books from the list below
- Turn in tracking slips to the library on which books you have read. These must signed by an adult and turned in no later than Fri, November 17th.
