The Student Council will be selling candy canes for 25 cents to raise money to donate blankets and other gifts to families at Primary Children's Medical Center. Students can purchase these candy canes during lunch recess starting on Thursday, December 5.
A note from Jessica Riessen: I met a lot of new parents at Back-to-School Night. We are excited to have lots of new kids. I want to explain the classroom sponsors program. We are trying to collect a minimum of $300 for each teacher for the year. This money stays with your child even if they change teachers in the middle of the year. It is used for items specifically for your child's class that the teacher needs such as supplies, books, etc., The money is regulated through Alpine School District Foundation and is TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your family or business name will be put on a small plaque outside the classroom door. You may remain anoymous if you want. This is not the same as the $20 class donation that is used for such things as field trips. Last year we did a great job with this. Thank you to the parents who supported this program last year. You may donate any amount you can. I will place a paper you can fill out in the office, and you can turn all checks in to the front desk. Please call or email me if you have any questions (801-783-7304, email@example.com). We also would love to get donations for specialty teachers - art, music, computers, PE. Anything will help. Thank you for the amazing support you show our school. We are off to a great year.
